Mobile Websites

When you are on your smart phone and you are browsing on the internet many sites now have a more condense mobile version of their sites. This is great for the customer because it allows the website to be easier to browse and look around on the site. Above is an example of Targets website and mobile website. The top image is the example of targets basic website. As you can see it has more text boxes, pictures, and thing you can do from the home page. The image below is the mobile website for target. The mobile version has similar color patterns and is much more simplistic than Targets main home page.

Recently I have been using my phone more and more to browse the internet and have noticed how helpful these mobile websites can be. However, one website that I wish did have the moible website is PLU. If you go to http://www.plu.edu/ you will see a nice website that is well managed. But on your phone, it takes minutes to completely load and is a major frustration if you are trying to function on the website. Being a PLU student there are many functions on the site that I need to go on. PLU in this regard is behind on the time and should definitely think about getting a mobile website.

Google and Apple are Tracking You

Whether you know it or not, if you have a Smart Phone like Apples iPhone or Googles Android, you may be being tracked. Apple and Google keep battling for an upper hand in the phone industry. With technology today, the smart phone you carry with you can send Apple and Google information. The information is being used by the companies for good reason. Tracking customers gives companies the ability to find the hot spots and make a map of the world and where their users are located. Also, they are able to better the services for navigation and GPS. Many people raised questions about whether or not this okay for Apple and Google to do. After investigating it was decided that there was nothing wrong. Apple and Google are continually looking to keep improving the use of this technology to help its customers and improve the map of the world.

What catches your attention?

In class we are learning about Google Campaign advertising. This has been interesting to me because we are currently planning Adword campaigns to get people to click on our webpage when it is searched on google. The two biggest challenges are getting our website link to the first page, and getting the consumer to click on our link!! I as a marketor am wondering what are some links, words, or phrases that catch your eye and attention?!

Setting the Trend the Last 10!

Apple released its first iPod 10 years ago in 2001. To think about the transformation that this MP3 player has gone through is remarkable. Apple not only turned this device in to a mobile phone, it has numerous varieties of the iPod itself.

The iPod at its beggining in 01' was big and ugly in comparision to the iPod and iPhone's of today. Apple changed the way people think about their cell phones and MP3 players. This is because they were combined back in January, 2007. Its funny to think that when the original iPod came out and I bought it, I was excited it had Solitare and Brick Breaker in the GAMES settings. Look now at the iPhone, which has thousands of applications and games.

Apple in the past 10 years have dominated the technology world. I can only imagine what it will do in the future.
